Let's start with this: The Virginia Tech Hokies are the 2010 ACC Champions!!! Hip Hip Hooray!

After what can only be described as a painful, frustrating and embarrassing start to the season, these Hokies have truly shown how much heart they really have. Our trip to Charlotte was a blast, and that was in large part due to those boys in pads (although, my friends are pretty darn fabulous and fun in and of themselves!)
My best friend Rachel and I headed down Friday after work and arrived in Charlotte around 10:30pm. We checked into our hotel and headed straight for the hotel bar. We met some nice guests, had a few cocktails and anticipated all the fun that was to come the following morning. We woke up Saturday, showered, watched a little college gameday (where the nerves began for me as ALL of the analysts picked Virginia Tech to win- NEVER a good sign!) My friend Lindsay and her boyfriend arrived around 1pm, and we then headed out to tailgate! The weather wasn't exactly ideal. It was colddddddd and rainy/icy. Luckily for us, we had a tailgate spot in a parking garage right next to the stadium. So during the hail storms (and yes, I mean hail) we were covered and dry! We had a good time sipping & snacking for a few hours with great friends. And then it was gametime!
The game was so fun! It was exciting from the get-go. FSU got an early lead, but we came back with avengence. Our defense played outstanding, Tyrod Taylor was literally perfect, the coaches called great plays, the fans showed up in drones.... it was fantastic. It was full of plays that make you jump up and down because they were so exciting. We were outstanding on 3rd downs. We had interceptions and turnovers. We shut.them.down. It was SO.MUCH. FUN! I could not have been prouder in the way these boys played- with pride. I was quite happy to finally endure a long trip home with a big, fat grin on my face the whole way :) Way to go Hokies!!!
